Kris Bernal gets real on her one on one interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal exclusives about the things she felt after finding out that she is no longer a contract artist of GMA, which has been the actress’ home network for 13 years.
According to Kris, it took her long to grasp the idea that she is no longer legally affiliated with the company, and it gave her sadness. “Actually, sabi ko nga when my contract expired, being in the industry for 13 years, masakit sa akin na my contract was not renewed.
“At saka, first time ko rin to be a freelancer.”
Added her, “Honestly, may weeks talaga na na-depress ako.
“Hindi ako lumalabas ng bahay. Hindi ako nag-aayos. Hindi ako nagpapakita to anyone.
“Kasi nga, parang I couldn’t figure it out at first.”
The 31 year old star also opened up about being lost on her path as an actress.
“Bakit? Anong kulang? Anong ginawa ko?”
But later on, she got a project from TV 5, which she gladly accepted.
Despite of not being a contract talent of GMA anymore, she still politely asked for the management’s approval if she can work with other network for the mean time.
“Pero at the end of the day, I wholeheartedly understood GMA, kasi nga we’re in the middle of a pandemic.
“And I understand na may mga contract artists pa sila na kailangan nilang tutukan, kailangan nila bigyan ng trabaho.
“So, naintindihan ko naman po.”
Continued Bernal, “Pero alam mo, nakakuha rin kasi ako ng support sa fiancé ko, sa family ko, sa friends ko in show business.
“So, naramdaman ko it’s time for me to explore na rin. It’s my chance to grow na rin as an actress.
“Ganun ko na lang siya tinake.”
