Earlier in the week , Kapuso news anchor Arnold Clavio and Kapamilya reporter Karen Davila threw shade against each other on social media. Davila appeared to disapproved of Clavio’s song during his guesting during a radio program. After taking note of the program, she took to social media to share her sentiments and take a jab against Clavio.
“YES! Key words – solidarity & courage. It saddens me to listen to some colleagues making jokes on air on Rappler being pack up or which one’s next,” says Karen.
This touched a nerve with Karen Davila, especially amid the ABS-CBN shutdown. Way back in May, the enormous network was forcefully closed down by the National Telecommunications Network. Until now, ABS-CBN’s bid for franchise renewal remains pending. ABS-CBN isn’t the sole media company who suffered the wrath of the administration.
On the opposite hand, Arnold Clavio defended himself and claimed that the Kapamilya news anchor didn’t even bother to urge their side first. He also explained the message of unity and solidarity of their song.
“Can’t believe you didn’t even get our side. Halatang hindi mo kasi napanood o napakinggan eh at naki-tsismis ka lang. ‘Solidarity and courage’ ba kamo? Yun nga ang mensahe ng Balitawit ko. Eto ang refrain para sa kaalaman mo: Panahon na naman ng paglaban. Panahon na naman… Panahon na naman ng paglaban. Gumising ka. Tara na!”
According to the Kapuso news anchor, until now, Karen Davila still hasn’t reached bent him following their spat on social media.
